FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: North Texas Region – USA Volleyball has found a new home
Dallas, TX – January 11, 2013 – The North Texas Region (NTR) will relocate operations to a new location effective April 1, 2013. In 2006, NTR formalized the organization by opening office doors in Dallas, Texas. In response to region growth, NTR relocated to an office location in Farmers Branch, allowing NTR to offer more in-house clinics and meeting space. As the North Texas Region continues to grow, with NTR offering more membership options, an office only setting has outgrown the needs of the membership. After searching the DFW area for possible properties and narrowing the choices for the NTR board to review, the North Texas Region is pleased to announced the board has approved a seven-year lease agreement for property that will include space for office, meetings, clinics and volleyball court activities. At the conclusion of our current office lease, expiring March 31, 2013, we will relocate to 1004 N Avenue, Suite 120, Plano, TX, 75074. The location will offer 24′ ceilings, two full-sized courts, office space, restrooms, showers in restrooms and classrooms that overlook the court area. As the North Texas Region moves forward with move-in, we will announce a grand opening date at a later time.
The North Texas Region goals for the new facility:
• Host IMPACT as well as IMPACT Plus (court component)
• Host CAP I/II
• Host coaching clinics for NTR coaches
• Host coaching clinics for middle school, high school and league coaches
• Host grassroots clinics, including but limited to boys, adults new to volleyball, coed and youth
• Host parent education sessions (rules, recruiting, etc.)
• Host High Performance tryouts and training
• Host PVL tryouts and training
• Host Adult Division events (tournaments, open gym, instruction clinics)
• Host training opportunities for officials
• Host exhibitions
• Provide extra space as needed for events needing one or two courts (ex. 17/18s divisions)
Andy Reitinger, Commissioner of the North Texas Region commented “The North Texas Region’s mission is to promote volleyball in the North Texas area. While we continue to show growth and provide opportunities to junior girls who are participating in club programs, there are still membership areas we feel we can reach more. NTR’s plan to open a facility, which includes our offices, will help us come closer to that goal. We are very excited about the opportunity to provide additional opportunities to junior boys, adults new to volleyball, officials seeking training, coaches desiring to expand their education and outreach to economically disadvantaged players. Our court and training areas, along with a support staff, will give the North Texas area an additional resource to foster growth and competition. We look very forward to opening our doors and inviting our membership to a grand opening, where they can explore the facility.”
